Thank you for your interest in our research on music and language processing at the CAASD laboratory in the School of Psychology & Clinical Language Sciences at the University of Reading.

Our research has been supported by the European Research Council through an ERC Starting Grant and an ERC Proof of Concept Grant to Dr Fang Liu.

We are looking for individuals who fit the following criteria to join our study:

  • Clinically diagnosed autistic individuals aged 16 to 50 years 
  • Non-autistic individuals aged 25 to 50 years 
  • Native speaker of English
  • Right-handed
  • No hearing problems or neurological conditions

If you are selected for further testing in our lab, you will be compensated for your time at £10 per hour and your travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Experimental sessions will involve listening to or producing some speech or musical sounds and/or performing some cognitive tasks as well as an EEG session.

All proposals for research using human participants are reviewed by an ethics committee before they can proceed. This study has been reviewed by the University Research Ethics Committee at the University of Reading and has been given a favourable ethical opinion for conduct.
